EMI Music Publishing
Identity design pitch for the world's leading music publisher.
Brief
Airside was invited to pitch for the redesign of the EMI Music Publishing identity.
The logo had to be flexible and able to be repurposed across different media.
Despite not winning the job I am pleased with my response, seen above.
My response
The design centres around the visual motif of a soundwave, masked using a strong typeface. The use of type and the representation of sound using a visual wave are a nod to 'music' and 'publishing' respectively.
The identity works in monochrome and at small sizes. It could also be replicated in various colourways to depict different aspects of the company's business.
