Blockclock is a self-initiated project stemming from a fascination I have with visualisations of time and with digital/interactive clocks in particular.
As each second elapses, a coloured block of varying size drops into the screen. Blocks fall under the pull of ‘gravity’, colliding with previous blocks to build a minute stack, which clears on the minute to welcome a new colourway.
Definitely not the most practical representation of the time, but I designed and developed this in an attempt to make watching passing seconds mesmerising.
I plan to release a Blockclock screensaver for Mac soon(ish).
